Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our temporary kitchens:
Do I need planning permission for a kitchen pod?
No, our temporary kitchen pods fit on most driveways and require no planning due to the temporary nature of the unit. Much like a caravan or trailer, they can be parked on private land with the owners consent.
How long can I hire a kitchen pod for?
Hire periods can range from 2 weeks to several months depending on your needs. You can extend your hire period at any time given reasonable notice. If your project runs over time, simply get in touch as soon as possible and we can extend your hire.
Are your kitchen pods warm?
Yes! All of our pods are insulated and fitted with automatic timer controlled heating for comfort and convenience in those colder months.
Will insurance cover a temporary kitchen pod hire?
Yes, if you have alternative accommodation cover, your insurer will usually cover temporary kitchen hire from Galleys. Get in touch and we can provide an insurance-ready quote to share with your provider. Need help? Get in touch.
What's included with a temporary kitchen pod?
As standard, all of our pods include a hob, oven, sink, fridge-freezer, and food storage. Some of our pods also include a dishwasher and even dining areas. We can also provide microwaves, kettles, small appliances, cookware and cutlery if required. Just ask when booking.
What are the utility requirements for a kitchen pod?
We’ll need to connect water, electricity and waste to your pod. So ideally an outside tap, plug socket and drain are required. Our team will always check and confirm with you before placing your booking. If in doubt, give us a call, we’re happy to help.
